I don't know
Well I don't know how many the guy has paid to sleep with the nuclear physicist beside him but she's clearly not using Office ! You can say so by zooming on her hair and notice that they are all curved in a swril shape. :)

Another proof of the soundness and quality of Free Software when in good hands.

I always hope this is a sick joke.
At least they don't have a Mac in the ad this time :-)

It's still difficult for me to accept that it's a genuine ad, as I thought MS had better (and wiser) ad people than this. Did you manage to verify it?

Why? I thought it was moderately amusing, evil empire aside.

100% Verified
This is a scan a syster (from the systers mailing list) sent in:

I'd like to solicit opinions about an ad. I'm a Computer Science
department in New Zealand. I walked into our giant lecture theater
this morning for the first day of classes for the first semester of
the year, for our first compulsory course for our CS majors. I found
an advertisement on the OHP, projected onto the giant screen (about
20 feet high). I've scanned it in, and would like your opinion about
this ad (http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~sallyjo/ms_screen_res.pdf).

How very sad. Thank you.

It's not that nothing did happen; it's that you gave the appearance that something could have. Additionally, how do you justify placing your children into the home of a man who is so close to a possible murder.

I really can not think of anything coherent to say about that ad.

To reassure you about the dearth of responses, I've read your OP several times in the last day or two, and will doubtless read it several more before I can think of anything coherent to say.

It is a popular joke that MCP actually stands for Male Chauvinist Pig :D

Stereotypes galore
I don't know what I hate more. The way it portrays a woman as being a computer inept offering sex in exchange of homework, or the way it makes a geek look like a horrible creature that accepts the deal and fails horribly at sex. Either way, most people are bound to be quite upset about the ad.

This is the worst way to go in any Argument which makes you LOOK more like a Racist then white people.

Ha ha
Well, I think most college students will get a slight laugh out of this. However, it is a distatseful ad, but what can you do?

Re: Ha ha
What part of sexism you don't understand?

It is not about being tatseful, it is about perpetuating stupid stereotipes. The blond is stupid and the nerd is ugly and uninteresting for girls.

Re: Ha ha
She's not a blonde by the looks of it. But I agree that it's sexism.
