For a week now, I couldn’t get rid of this smile on my face. Not even while gradually discovering every RLB (Real Life “Bugs”) in my new $HOME. Which, if you know me you are already aware, fucks up my karma. But nothing could erase this smile on my face this week.
Everything is packed and nicely fits into a not so huge suitcase. The towels, sleeping bag, inline skates, clothes, toilet paper :) pillow... i could even fit curtains in if I knew the size of the window at the dorm :)))
Tomorrow I will leave for HEL. I will meet old friends and I’m sure will make new ones. I am not really stressed about the wireless WPA setup because, as Héctor says, I’m just going in order to socialize, and as long as I can sit at a computer for 15 minutes and check my email I will be fine. And he is right. Not that I don’t ITW (Intend To Work), I do. But it’s either the geek in me is agonizing or that the RL time spent with my familyW^fellow Debian Developers is way more important for me. Some people will be really productive in RL groups, the d-i team comes to mind, but in my case, it’s the fichissimos and the talks, and herding 50 developers into picking up someone (Erinn?) at the airport, properly celebrating Branden is the DPL now, bugging tbm, the firewater, mooch’s newest and outrageous cell phone... that make this smile in my face resist the daily frustration.
I have been feeling good lately, specially since letting Héctor and Bego cook for me, (hey folks, you made a difference), but I know the best is about to come. Like every year, Debconf is going to rock.
See you tomorrow (in HEL)!
